Veneers

Are Veneers Your Best Option?

Aug 7 • 1 minute read

Over time, your teeth can become stained or chipped. Spaces or gaps may widen as your teeth shift. There are many ways that these imperfections can be corrected. One of the most popular ways involves the use of veneers. They last for several years and are easy to maintain in addition to giving you a brighter, whiter smile.

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are small porcelain coverings that are bonded directly to the surface of your teeth. They are shaped to look exactly like a tooth and are made for both the front and back sides of each tooth. They can correct a variety of imperfections including:

·         Stained or discolored teeth

·         Chips or broken teeth

·         Small to medium gaps between teeth

·         Teeth that are abnormally shaped or smaller than normal

Veneers are shaped to match the teeth they are going to cover. A small amount of tint is added so that the veneer will blend in naturally with the teeth around it.

Are Veneers Right For You?

Veneers are a great choice for people who want a permanent solution to the problems they are having with their teeth. Veneers will last for several years without having to be replaced or repaired. The main drawback is that once veneers are in place, you can't just take them off. To apply the bonding to the tooth, the enamel has to be removed which means you will need to replace your veneers if one becomes damaged.
