More on Dental Implants
Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide a fixed solution to having removable partial or complete dentures. Implants provide excellent support and stability for these dental appliances.
Dental implants replace the roots of the teeth and allow us to securely attach the missing teeth. The dental Implants are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bones. The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and enhance or restore a patient’s smile!
Dental implants are strong and durable and will last many years. We recommend bi-annual check ups to clean the teeth and check for any problems.
Reasons for dental implants:
What does getting dental implants involve?
Replace one or more missing teeth without having to grind the adjacent teeth for a bridge.
Resolve joint pain or bite problems caused by teeth shifting into a missing tooth space.
Restore a patient’s confidence and smile.
Restore chewing, speech, and digestion.
Restore or enhance facial features by stopping the associated bone loss.
Support a bridge or denture, making it more secure and comfortable.
The process of getting implants requires an initial consultation to determine the best approach to the patients situation.
Diagnostic X-rays and impressions (molds) are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. Implants are surgically placed into the bone and allowed to heal and integrate to the adjacent bone. Depending on the surgical approach, a second surgery may be required to uncover the implant. Once healed the dental implant can be restored with teeth.
The teeth are custom made with regard to size, shape and color. Dr. Bleeker pays close attention to the final restorations to assure they blend in with the patients smile making the entire procedure undetectable. After the treatment is complete it's common for patients to go out and have a nice meal, have family photographs updated or prepare for an important upcoming event such as a wedding, anniversary, graduation or reunion. Our goal is to provide patients with the best, highest quality dental care available so they can go out and participate in the world without concerns about their teeth.
Once your treatment is complete you become part of our family and participate in an ongoing preventive care program spearheaded by our exceptional dental hygienists. They focus on good oral hygiene and identify any issues before they become problems. We want you to get on with the important things in life like enjoying time with your family and friends without worrying about your teeth or dentures.
